Everyone is an art-maker!
Here at Art for All, we like to get as many people of varying abilities as possible making art for the community! We appreciate the contributions of skilled artists, but we also love getting people involved who have little to no training. It is such fun when they surprise themselves with what they can do.
To give more opportunities for involvement, we designed the border to be a series of about 40 small paintings of animals, plants and scenery from the trail, each made at a workshop or with a take-home art kit. Any paintings produced that don’t end up on the mural will go in an exhibit at the Fowler Library, opening on May 20th.
We have held workshops at Fowler Library, Concord Park, the Council on Aging and at the Art for All studio. The paintings are amazing! It is going to be incredibly difficult to select the ones for the border, so thank goodness we get to enjoy all of them at the exhibit!
Each of the paintings uses a photograph for reference. We believe in involving real, identifiable and usually local community members whenever possible, so these are not just any photos off the internet! Find out about the photos and photographers next week.
If you are interested in being apart of the mural or exhibit, we have one more workshop left Thursday, April 6th!
Below are a few moments from our past workshops.
