The Yard Sign Project
Art for All’ Yard Sign Project takes mass-produced, single-use plastic yard signs and transforms them into unique, hand-made works of art. Each iteration of Repurposed Yard Signs addresses a theme of interest in the larger community and engages a wide array of individuals and groups in producing and displaying the signs.
The focus of the first chapter, Signs of Well-being, was mental health. The second, Signs of Life: Cultivating Life in the Landscape, celebrates our connection with nature, and encourages landscaping practices that support the life of pollinators and other beneficial insects, animals and plants.
With Signs of Life, ART for ALL makes a commitment to our own ecological practices in producing art. We will use repurposed and donated materials when possible. We will remove acrylics from the water before disposing of it. We will use rags instead of paper towels when possible, and we will produce signs that are beautiful, resilient and worth keeping out of the landfill.
