Pandemic Memorial Heart

The Pandemic Memorial Heart is both a commemoration of the many lives lost to Covid 19 since the beginning of 2020, and a tribute to those who have brought care and comfort to patients and families.

You can see the 4 foot square, preliminary version in this video, It was included in the Virtual Tree Dedication Ceremony at Emerson Hospital on Monday May 10th, a memorial service put on by the nurses of the ICU.

The PMH is now 5 x5 feet with contributions from over 60 people who have have drawn and painted nearly 20,000 hearts, representing, approximately, the number of people who have died of Covid 19 in Massachusetts. It is now on display on the 6th floor of Emerson Hospital where most of their Covid patients have been cared for.

Through the Pandemic Memeorial Heart Fund in collaboration with Three Stones Gallery, Art for All raised $2,200 for La Collaborativa in Chelsea, an organization that has made enormous contributions to the health of a city harder hit than any other in Massachusetts.

Our thanks to Crosby Design and David Reese for framing the Pandemic Memorial Heart.
