Designing the Mural

In the past four years, Mike Sprague has contributed his artistic skills to 5 Art for All murals. Mike’s artistic style is humorous, chock full of visual and often written information, which made him a natural to take the lead on the design of the mural map of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. Mike’s design is inspired by the vintage tourist maps that he enjoyed as a child, ones that have lots of icons representing places and items of interest.

At his kitchen table, Mike made a detailed drawing for each of the eight towns along the 12 mile trail. Find out in the next post how he will get all of those painted onto the 8 x 24 foot mural by the end of April. Hint: he can’t do it by himself!
