Ellie’s Summer Crafts

We are wrapping up the 2023 AfA Summer Adventures blog with a post written by Ellie Garvey! Ellie has contributed her artistic talents and good humor to Art for All events and projects since our beginnings in 2019. We are very grateful to Ellie's parents who must have done something right because they produced both Ellie and her sister Chris Price who is also a creative member of the Art for All community and wrote the blog post for her summer adventures.

I am having a relaxing summer, and one of the activities I have been doing is experimenting with painting and coloring.  The tufted titmouse is in watercolor, and the fox and northern flicker are in acrylic. I experimented with more freehand sketching before I painted the girl; I have a lot to learn from that. I do like the motion of the swing, though. Finally, I used colored pencils to color some mandala designs. I’m going to use those images to make cards. Not pictured here.

I also learned a technique for enhancing my greeting cards with metallic flakes - its been an artistic summer!
